School Council visits the Houses of Parliament!
Our School Council safely undertook an exciting journey of over 200 miles to the heart of the nation — London! Representing the voice of our pupils, the councillors travelled to the capital city to visit the iconic Houses of Parliament.
This unforgettable experience gave our young leaders a unique insight into how democracy works in the UK. They toured the historic buildings, learned about the role of MPs and Lords, and even took part in a Q&A session to deepen their understanding of government and citizenship.
Miss Murphy, Mr Knowles and Mrs Walters - not to mention the rest of us back at school - are incredibly proud of how confidently and respectfully they represented St George’s. The trip, clearly, is not only inspiring but has ignited a passion for leadership and change in our School Council — true ambassadors for our school community!
Below, you shall find a video of some of our fantastic Y5/6 children recalling their favourite memory of the day, plus a gallery consisting of a range of photos taken throughout the day. Enjoy!
