Uniform

School Uniform

At our school, we believe that wearing the correct uniform sets the tone for a successful day of learning. Our motto — Dress smart, act smart, think smart — reflects the high standards we expect from every pupil.

When children dress smartly, they come to school ready to learn, behave responsibly, and take pride in themselves and their school community. We ask all families to support us by ensuring pupils wear the correct uniform every day, helping to create a calm, focused environment where everyone can thrive.

For further information regarding uniform, please peruse this link.

PE Kit

On allocated PE days, children are expected to come to school wearing their full PE kit. Our motto — Blue is the colour — is a reminder that PE kit is part of our school identity. Wearing the correct kit not only shows team spirit but ensures children are dressed appropriately and safely for physical activity.

Please support us by making sure your child wears the correct school PE kit on their PE day (see below), so they’re ready to move, play, and participate with pride.

PE Days
Mondays: 6A, 6C, 6D and 6E
Wednesdays: 6B

Be Ready, Set and Organised

We encourage families to equip children with a simple pencil case containing the basics they’ll need for learning each day. Whilst no child will ever be left without the tools they need, having their own stationery helps children feel prepared and supports them in developing independence and responsibility. Thank you for helping us give every child the best start to each lesson!

Suggested items for a pencil case:

2 pencils, an eraser, a sharpener, a ruler (30cm, if possible), 2 blue handwriting pens, a green biro,  colouring pencils, a glue stick and a small pair of safety scissors.

Homework

Homework plays a valuable role in supporting your child’s learning. Here’s why completing homework tasks matters:

  1. reinforces learning;

  2. builds independence and responsibility;

  3. strengthens the home–school partnership;

  4. boosts confidence.

By supporting your child to complete their homework on time, you are giving them the best possible chance to succeed and develop positive lifelong learning habits. Typically, homework will be given on a Friday and is to be returned by the following Thursday.

The London Residential

Our Year 6 pupils have the exciting opportunity to take part in a residential visit to London, designed to enrich and enhance their classroom learning. During the trip, children will explore key landmarks and places of historical significance, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of Britain’s history, culture and democratic values.

The residential also plays an important role in supporting pupils’ personal development. Children will build independence, confidence and teamwork skills while sharing new experiences with their peers. The trip is fully supervised by experienced school staff, with pupils’ safety and well-being at the heart of all planning and activities.

This residential visit to London is always a highlight of the year and provides memorable learning experiences that stay with pupils long after they return to school.

To be kept up-to-date with the current status of the residential, please check our London Residential page. All correspondence will be posted on this page: https://www.stgeorges.wirral.sch.uk/London-Residential-Y6/ or can be found within your Compass app.
