The Y4 team hosted a well-attended Zoom meeting for families regarding the Y3 to Y4 transition in July '25. This can be viewed by downloading the PDF from the bottom of this page.

The main team who will be leading your children for the academic year, 2025/26 are:

Our Year 4 teaching staff are dedicated to fostering a love of learning and helping every child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. With their passion for teaching and a creative approach to the curriculum, they ensure lessons are engaging, inclusive, and tailored to the needs of every pupil.

The team works collaboratively to provide a stimulating environment where children are encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and build confidence in their abilities.

Beyond the classroom, they support a range of extracurricular activities and aim to nurture well-rounded, curious learners ready to take on new challenges.
Our Year 4 team is here to inspire, motivate, and guide your child through this exciting stage of their educational journey!

The Essentials

School Uniform

At our school, we believe that wearing the correct uniform sets the tone for a successful day of learning. Our motto — Dress smart, act smart, think smart — reflects the high standards we expect from every pupil.

When children dress smartly, they come to school ready to learn, behave responsibly, and take pride in themselves and their school community. We ask all families to support us by ensuring pupils wear the correct uniform every day, helping to create a calm, focused environment where everyone can thrive.

For further information regarding uniform, please peruse this link.

PE Kit

On allocated PE days, children are expected to come to school wearing their full PE kit. Our motto — Blue is the colour — is a reminder that PE kit is part of our school identity.

Wearing the correct kit not only shows team spirit but ensures children are dressed appropriately and safely for physical activity.

Please support us by making sure your child wears the correct school PE kit on their PE day (see below), so they’re ready to move, play, and participate with pride.

The inside guide to York, UK | National Geographic

The Conway Residential

This much-anticipated trip is a wonderful opportunity for children to develop independence, resilience and teamwork while enjoying a wide range of outdoor and environmental learning experiences. During the residential, pupils will take part in activities such as outdoor exploration, team-building challenges and nature-based learning, all carefully planned to be engaging, safe and age-appropriate. These experiences support the Year 4 curriculum while also helping children build confidence and strengthen friendships.

The residential is also an important step in preparing pupils for future residential visits in upper school. Staff from school will accompany the children throughout the stay, alongside experienced Conway Centre instructors, ensuring pupils are well supported at all times.

To be kept up-to-date with the current status of the residential, please check our York Residential page. All correspondence will be posted on this page: https://www.stgeorges.wirral.sch.uk/Conway--Y4/ or can be found within your Compass app.
