🪨 A Rock-tastic visit from Julie Marshall in Y3! 🌎

A huge thank you to Julie Marshall, who kindly came into school last week to share her fascinating rock collection with the children!

Julie brought along a wonderful selection of her own rocks and shared lots of interesting facts and information, helping the children to learn more about how rocks are formed, what makes each rock unique, and how we can identify and compare different types of rocks.

The visit fitted perfectly with our science learning this term, particularly this week’s lesson on the Mohs Scale of Hardness. The children were able to see and handle real examples, putting their learning into context and developing their understanding in a fun and memorable way.

The children thoroughly enjoyed Julie’s visit and were fascinated by her collection. It was fantastic to see their curiosity and enthusiasm as they asked questions and discovered more about the world beneath our feet!
