Friday 17 January 2025 Year 3 History assembly with Mrs Marshall Today, year 3 had a very exciting visit from Mrs Marshall who gave us a great introduction to our new History topic all about the Early Ancient Civilisations. We were able to explore different artefacts and ask questions about why the civilisations were so important.

Wednesday 8 January 2025 Fabulous Fundraising from Oliver! One of our fantastic year 4 pupils spent a great deal of time last term making loom bands and setting up a stall outside his house.

Tuesday 7 January 2025 Panto Fun! The year three children have been lucky to see the Aladdin pantomime today. They had lots of fun and found the show absolutely hilarious! I’m sure they will all come home excited to share the story with you. Thank you very much to our visitors for coming in to perform.

Tuesday 17 December 2024 Santa Dashes Takes Place Across Whole School Across the whole school yesterday, all children took part in our annual 'Santa Dash' events. All 35 classes took part with children and adults getting physical for Christmas.

Monday 16 December 2024 Proud to Be Part of the New Wallasey Village Library and Community Centre Mrs Jones as the school's trustee and Mr Cassidy attended the official opening of Wallasey Library on Thursday evening.

Monday 16 December 2024 Year 2 - Connecting With Children in China Mr Cassidy has been working with staff and children in year 2 to launch our connection with Huize Street School in Beijing, China. Huize Street children learn English at school and are connecting with our children through videos and messages.

Monday 16 December 2024 Years 5 and 6 Christmas Lights and Aladdin 30 of our pupils were lucky enough to receive free tickets to see the Christmas Lights and watch Aladdin at the Empire Theatre. Mr Nathan, Mrs Jones and Miss Pickering commented on the children's excellent behaviour and what a privilege it was to share such a magical Christmas experience with our children.

Monday 16 December 2024 Upper Site Choir Visit Nursing Home Mrs Richards and our amazing upper site choir entertained the residents at St George's nursing home with their wonderful singing this week. Staff and residents commented on the difference that the children's singing made to everybody.

Monday 9 December 2024 Fencing Club Assembly Year 5 and year 6 enjoyed an assembly from Wayne this afternoon! Wayne will be coming in after Christmas to run a 5 week course on Fridays 3 -4 after school starting on Friday 10th January. The club will cost £27.50 and includes all coaching, equipment and certificates. Sign up is on a first come first served basis and children will need to return the form to school. Payment will be made through Compass.

Friday 6 December 2024 An excellent Autumn term in Year 4! The children have had an incredible first term in Year 4. They have demonstrated their resilience, excellence and positivity and have really developed their key character strengths from our MyHappyMind lessons.

Thursday 5 December 2024 Year 3 Experience Christmas This week the children in Y3 have attended Experience Christmas at St Hilary’s church. The children visited different stations set up by the volunteers to explore and learn all about the Christmas story.

Monday 2 December 2024 Oracy No Pen Wednesday On Wednesday 27th November, all classes from F1-Y6 took part in No Pen Wednesday. Each class had to pick one lesson from their day were they were unable to use pens or pencils and had to use their oracy skills to support, enhance and demonstrate their learning. Children took part in amazing Science, Literacy, Geography, outdoor learning and PE lessons to name just a few.

Wednesday 20 November 2024 Aspirations Afternoon - Year 6 - Celebrating Black History Month Our Year 6 Aspirations Afternoon was a fantastic opportunity for families to engage with their children’s learning journey and preparation for SATs. Parents and carers were able to meet the class teachers, explore a selection of their children’s work, and gain valuable insights into their aspirations targets for the remainder of the year.

Wednesday 13 November 2024 Year 6 Claremount Church Year 6 had a brilliantly informative session at Claremount Church today. They met war veterans and Wallasey residents who were living in the village as children during WW2.

Wednesday 6 November 2024 Year 6 Evacuation Day Year 6 boarded the train from Wallasey to Chirk this morning to start their journey as WW2 evacuees. Throughout the day, they went on a nature walk in the countryside, baked biscuits using rationed ingredients, constructed their own gas mask boxes and have learnt some Welsh. There was also a boost to morale with some singing of 'Quartermaster's Store' and 'Run, Rabbit, Run'.

Friday 25 October 2024 Marvellous Musicians in Year 4 This half term our fantastic year 4s have been learning how to play the ukulele. They have learn minor and major chords and combined them to play some very catchy tunes! It has been a joy listening to them sing and play along to Ukulele Magic, We Will Rock You and Thumb Brush Strum!
