Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 1

Salary: Band D £20,032 to £20,351

33 hours per week, 39 weeks a year (term time only including INSETS) with an opportunity to undertake an additional 3 pastoral hours per week

The governing body and leadership team are seeking a committed professional to join our valued teaching assistant team.

The candidate will be an excellent practitioner, with a proven record in helping to promote excellent learning and outcomes for children in Key Stage One.

The successful applicant must have the following qualities;

A deep understanding of and passion for high quality education.
A commitment to professional learning and development (All TAs have at least 50 hours of CPD a year as part of their directed time).
Experience of supporting high quality classroom teaching including phonics and mastery-based mathematics.
Understanding of how to promote high quality oracy and language. Ability to develop good relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
Understanding of how to apply positive behaviour management approaches.
Ability to work constructively as part of a team. Willingness to show initiative and apply common sense.
Experience of supporting assessment and planning for next steps in a child's learning.

Qualifications & Training	Grade C or above at GCSE in Maths and English (or equivalent) NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent or the willingness to undertake this qualification upon appointment Up to date safeguarding certificate/training. Skills & Experience	Experience working in KS1 or EYFS, supporting learning and teaching. Experience of providing support for children with individual plan needs (learning, pastoral and health needs) Experience of supporting high quality classroom teaching.	Recent experience of supporting children in KS1. An understanding of mastery led mathematics teaching. Experience of supporting children with phonics and early reading. Experience of delivering interventions.
Knowledge	An understanding of how to enable children to learn well in classrooms. Able to develop good relationships with children. Able to develop professional relationships with colleagues. Able to develop good relationships with parents. Positive behaviour management. Ability to work constructively as part of a team. Willingness to show initiative and apply common sense. IT literate and able to use range of technology and Internet appropriately. Good standard of written and spoken English. Understanding of how to support children with SEND needs.	Creative capacity to support display and development of a positive school environment.
Personal Qualities	Promote the school’s aims positively and use effective strategies to motivate children. Develop good personal relationships within a team. Establish and develop close relationships with parents, governors and the community. Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences.
