Parents' Voice and Annual Surveys

Parent and carer voice is really valued at St George's.

We look to engage with families through family events, senior staff visibility, annual parent surveys and forums.

Below you will find our last three parent surveys.  We get exceptional feedback from our families but you also challenge us to be better.

In response to our 2025 survey we will:

1.  Strengthen our support offer to families for children with SEND with the development of our Inclusion Champions throughout the school and regular multi-agency drop in sessions.

2.  Work closely with families to ensure effective communication and good support for home learning.  This will build on our information evenings, home learning clubs and other initiatives.

3.  Use your feedback to shape our school improvment plans for 2026-2029.  This will be published on the school website.

4.  Strengthen communication from other senior leaders and governors.  Apart from Mr Cassidy you expressed a lack of awareness for other senior leaders, SENDCO and key staffThis will be done at meetings, via website, family events etc.

In response to our 2024 survey we:

1.  Developed a new programme of family events to ensure that parents and carers have a menu of:

  • Transition and welcome events to their new year group.
  • Curriculum information events so you can know more about how we teach and experience our classrooms.
  • Parent evening and aspiration events.
  • Drop in events for academic and personal support.

These will be a combination of during the school day and after school events.  We will also offer a balance of 'in person and remote events.'

We will also stress that 'in school' appointments can be made for parents' evenings.   The majority of our parents prefer remote parents' evenings but a lot of our improvment comments requested in person appointments.

2.  Continue to reduce the number of platforms that families have to use in school.  We will slowly (to ensure success) move our communication and payments onto Compass.

3.  Reignite our parent forums in 2025 with themed events for curriculum, inclusion and diversity, special needs etc.

4.  Ensured that we provide more inclusion and multi agency support.

5.  Ensured that we offered online parents evenings (over 80% of families valued this) but also offer face to face appointments.

You can read our 2024 and 2023 survey feedback below.  We use our surveys to celebrate our strengths but also make best decisions on how to improve, offer family learning, host parents' evenings etc.
