Year 6 First Aid
Year 6 pupils participated in a fantastic first aid workshop today with Mr Corkhill. Mr Corkhill was a paramedic before training to become a teacher at St George's. He is now a lecturer at Wrexham University.
Children all learnt about the contents of a first aid kit, how to dress a wound, how to respond when somebody is breathing but unconscious and what to do when someone is not breathing.
We were all really proud of how the children engaged with this workshop and really took on board the messages. We hope that none of our children need to use these skills but trust that they have taken something from this session that might just help them or someone else in the future.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Corkhill for his lesson today.
