Year 6 Evacuation Day
Year 6 boarded the train from Wallasey to Chirk this morning to start their journey as WW2 evacuees. Throughout the day, they went on a nature walk in the countryside, baked biscuits using rationed ingredients, constructed their own gas mask boxes and have learnt some Welsh. There was also a boost to morale with some singing of 'Quartermaster's Store' and 'Run, Rabbit, Run'.
We would like to say a huge thank you and well done to all of the children for participating so willingly in the day, to those who dressed up to play a role and especially to those who brought in sentimental items, such as badges, personal letters, photographs and POW records.
