Y5/6 School Council Parliament Assembly
This afternoon, children in years 5 and 6 listened to our amazing school councillors present information about parliament in a special assembly. This was to celebrate UK Parliament Week. We all learnt about MPs, campaigns, Houses of Parliament, surgeries and who our local MP is.
Children also told us about their roles in school and how they make decisions as a committee. We were excited to learn about the two parties that they will split into to decide how to spend £1000. In the future, they will meet and campaign for their ideas before all children will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite party.
Good luck to all councillors involved!
