An excellent Autumn term in Year 4!
The children have had an incredible first term in Year 4. They have demonstrated their resilience, excellence and positivity and have really developed their key character strengths from our MyHappyMind lessons.
The children have enjoyed music lessons with the excellent Mr Harper, had a visit from our governor Julie Marshall and her exciting Ancient Greek artefacts and used VR to explore towns in France and ruins in Greece.
In science, we’ve had an electrifying couple of terms exploring classifying animals and creating circuits. We evenhave had a visit from the head of carnivores at Knowsley Safari (and of Secret
Life of a Safari fame!) for a careers assembly. A child’s comment of ‘you’re so cool!’ really summarised the children‘s view of his job
A number of special events have been celebrated, including are wheelie breakfast where the children did a wonderful job decorating their scooters and bicycles. It was great to see so many children joining us for their tasty breakfast and getting some hi vis to keep themselves safe.
We have enhanced our skills in hockey and netball, read some intriguing books leading to some inspiring writing and covered addition, subtraction, multiplication, shape, perimeter and graphs on maths (Wow!)
In DT we have been exploring healthy recipes to create four our classes to enjoy. We’ve had the opportunity to practise our cutting and grating skills and got to taste our yummy dishes!
Overall, the unit has been alive with learning and achievements this term and we can’t wait to see it continue next year. Well done Year 4!
