Deputy Extended Services Co-ordinator

Due to the promotion of the current post holder, we are seeking to appoint a Qualified Deputy Extended Co-ordinator to join or dedicated wraparound care team. The Deputy will assist the Manager with the leadership of the extended services provision and will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of their respective site, ensuring continuity and efficiency in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily site operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Support the Manager in planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive play opportunities.
  • Lead and motivate staff, providing guidance, feedback, and mentoring.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Support the Manager with staff schedules, absences, and cover arrangements.
  • Act as the first point of contact for parents and caregivers, maintaining strong communication.
  • Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and the values of the school and Dragon Club.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children while leading and supporting a dynamic staff team. The ability to use IT equipment and navigate the school MIS and booking systems is essential. Full training will be given. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, flexible and a good team player, who is dedicated to ensuring that Dragon Club is a pleasurable and safe experience for our children.

We can only accept applications from qualified candidates for this role. The current vacancy is for 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, working 20 hours per week on a split shift during term time (Shift 1: 07:30 am - 8:50 am; Shift 2: 3:00 pm - 5:40 pm).

Holiday Club shifts are 5 hours from 8am-1pm, 12pm-5pm

Qualifications 

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children’s care, learning and development or equivalent
  •  A full and relevant EYFS qualification. Click here for list  
  •  Evidence of continuing professional development

 

  • Foundation Degree/Degree in Playwork
  • Relevant level 4 qualification
  • First aid certificate
  • Level 2 Safeguarding

Experience

  • Substantial experience within a childcare setting
  •  Substantial experience of working with children aged 3-11
  • Experience of planning or organising a childcare setting
  • Experience of working with children with individual needs
  • Experience in behaviour management

 

●    Experience of carrying out staff appraisals

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and appropriate activities to children of all ages.
  • Ability to take on an active play leader role whilst managing a high-quality wrap around provision.
  • Ability to implement consistent policy and practice and ensure other members of the team are doing so.
  • Ability to oversee a budget and prioritise spending.
  • Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and framework
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security, equal opportunities, and confidentiality

 

  • Knowledge of Ofsted Framework and Safeguarding requirements

Special Requirement
